Collaborating with artists based locally and beyond to foster a safe artistic platform for growth, conversation, and innovation. Salida Theater Festival is bringing quality, sustainable, and inspirational theatre to our community that celebrates the humanity in us all.
Salida Theater Project is proud to announce we received a generous grant from FYI, (Family Youth Initiatives in Salida). This grant allows us to award paid technical theater internships to four very talented and deserving theater arts students from Salida High School. Each theater production company has been assigned at least one intern.
Madison is thrilled to be working on Into the Woods with Sventastik Productions. She has stage managed over 8 shows in her career so far, and her favorite was The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with The Salida High School Drama Team, directed by Devon Kasper. When not backstage you can find her enjoying time with friends or maitre d'ing at her family’s restaurant 216 Ferraro’s. She plans to study at CU Boulder this fall to major in Aerospace Engineering. Madi is exited to part of the Festival and can’t wait to see it come together!
Danica is excited to be working with Salida Theater Project this summer. She has designed and operated the lights for the SHS Drama Team for 5 productions; and was rated Superior (5/5) for her light designs at her Individual Event at the Colorado Theater Conference in Denver (ThesCon). When she’s not in the booth Danica’s probably outside. She is excited to be a part of the first Salida Theater festival!
Elle is looking forward to working on costumes for Salida Theater Project’s summer productions. She is an employee at Little Red Hen Bakery and she enjoys playing tennis, being creative, and volunteering at Ark Valley Humane Society. Elle is excited to be majoring in Fashion Merchandising at LIM College in NYC this fall. Hope you enjoy the shows!
Athena is a junior at Salida High School and she is the stage manager for the theater program there. She has worked on many shows with the Drama Team including: The Pajama Game, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Our Town. Athena enjoys the arts and going into the mountains during her free time. She is thrilled to be part of this theater internship.
Festival Director, Leslie Matthews, hosts interviews and discussions with cast, crew, producers, and supporters of the Salida Theater Festival.
